Home Past Consultation Preliminary Environmental Information Report

Due to the location, scale and nature of the Facility, we have undertaken an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to identify any likely significant impacts of the proposed development on the environment.

As part of the Phase Three statutory consultation which took place in June and July 2019, we prepared a Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR), which detailed the environmental information gathered up to that stage and the results of the preliminary assessments of any likely environmental impacts of the construction, operation and decommissioning of the Facility. The PEIR also included an assessment of the residual effects of the development after proposed mitigation measures have been taken into account, based on the preliminary information available.

The Development Consent Order (DCO) application was accompanied by an Environmental Statement (ES) which updated the PEIR and set out the findings of the EIA. The ES can be viewed in the Document Library under Application Documents.

The Phase Three consultation included six Public Information Days to give local communities the opportunity to find out more and share their feedback on the project. Hard copies of the PEIR and supporting documentation were also available to view at the following locations from 25 June to 6 August 2019:
