Phase One Feedback Summary
Feedback from Phase One of the Boston Alternative Energy Facility pre-application consultation has been collated and analysed. A summary has been published in the document library on the project website.
Over 240 people attended the Phase One Public Information Days.
Feedback from Phase One was largely positive and supportive of the proposals. Sixty-nine of 70 respondents found the Phase One Public Information Days useful. Seventy people thought it was important to find alternative ways to produce energy and 69 people thought is better to generate energy from waste than sending waste to landfill. Several benefits of the Boston Alternative Energy Facility were suggested by respondents including:
- Reducing landfill
- Providing a renewable energy source
- Energy production
- Job creation
- Investment in the local economy.
Some concerns were raised by respondents. The main concerns people had related to:
- Traffic
- Safety
- Air quality and emissions
- Odour
- Noise.
